THIEM DIDN’T GIVE ANY CHANCE TO KLIZAN AND WON ST. PETERSBURG OPEN

The Austrian Dominic Thiem won St. Petersburg Open 2018. The top seed outplayed St. Petersburg Open 2012 Martin Klizan in the final – 6/3, 6/1.

Thiem made 4 breaks, Klizan had only two break points in the last game, but Dominic held them. The match lasted 1 hour 9 minutes.

«It means really a lot for me. It is my first indoor title, that is really amazing, and that’s why I was a little bit tight at the end and I am happy I made that game on my serve. First of all it always means a lot to win the tournament. There are not too many guys who win the tournament every year. So I am happy I won my first indoor title here in St. Petersburg. It is one of the nicest ATP 250 tournaments. People treat is amazing, the great hotel, and super arena so I couldn’t find a better place to win my first indoor title than here in St. Petersburg», – said the Austrian.

Dominic won his maiden indoor title. He also beat Klizan for the first time in his career, making h2h record between them 1-3.
