Today, March 15, is the 82nd birthday of the merited coach of Russia and Ukraine and the RTF board member Vladimir Kamelzon.
Mr. Kamelzon has had a very special life when it comes to tennis. He was born in Tashkent, graduated from the Uzbekistan’s State University for Physical Culture and Sport in 1962 with the major in sports games. After that he became a state coach for the Union of Sports Societies and Organizations for Uzbek Soviet Social Republic. Later he became the head coach of the National Junior School for Higher Sports Mastery. He was also the coach for national teams of Ukraine, Uzbekistan, USSR, and Russia. He has taught more than 30 masters of sport.
Currently Mr. Kamelzon is the head of the Children’s Tennis Sports School “Belokamennaya” based in Moscow. The tennis community also knows him as a member of the Organizing Committees for many successful prominent tournaments, including international events.
